The Great Beginnings program provides assessments and interventions for children with identified special needs that do not meet the minimum eligibility for mandated services. This project offers assessments and home visits from early interventionists including speech, physical, and occupational therapists for children ages 0 to 5 with an identified developmental delay or disability. Training and support services are provided during workshops facilitated by professional staff in community programs. Vision and hearing screenings are provided to children. This program also conducts follow-up and referrals to needed resources for families with children with low developmental screening scores.
